My approach to this project was to keep it as simple as possible by using using a plain white background, the same font placement and weights, as well as the reoccurring theme of pink, green, and blue triangles throughout. The intention of this project was to create a poster that described a few of the design principles that people with or without a design background could understand.

The reason why I decided to create a concert poster for a K-Pop band is because bands are represented by a specific color in Korea. The group I chose, NCT 127, is represented by a color they call Neo Pearl Champagne, which is a bright neon green color. I decided to take their green color and tone it down to fit the more mature and tough concept the group has been gravitating towards. By utilizing the green color throughout this poster, I hoped that it would link back to the pre-existing branding and themes that the group already has in place.

ABOUT SUHEIR HAMMAD
My approach to this project was to make a social media/poster campaign that featured quotes from the readings we were assigned in class. A lot of the readings focused on a sense of freedom, both physically and emotionally, so to communicate this, I decided to create a gradient background in hopes that it would evoke calm energy when looking at the graphics. As for the quotes, these are direct quotes from our readings that really stood out to me.

ABOUT MAITIM
For this project, I decided to focus on a topic that I’m very passionate about: confronting colorism within the Filipino community. Though the title of the zine doesn’t feature the word ‘black’ in English, the word ‘Maitim’ is used in the Filipino language to describe something that is black or dark, and is oftentimes used as a derogatory word towards those with darker skin. This zine includes information about the origins of colorism, examples within Filipino pop culture, experiences from Filipino people who have experienced colorism first hand, as well as ways to fight the spread the ideas and beliefs set in place by colorism.

Galco's Soda Pop Stop is an Italian Soda Shop that has been family owned and operated for over 100 years. Initially serving the community as an Italian Grocery Store, Galco’s has focused its inventory on unique sodas that offer a taste of nostalgia.With its unique vintage feel, one step into Galco’s can transport you back to a time that is reminiscent of the 1950s, when soda fountains were all the rage. With over 600 sodas available to the public, Galco’s has solidified itself as a one-of-a-kind experience that people of all ages can enjoy.

The concept of this project is to bring light to the lack of representation in history books. For this project, I wanted to specifically highlight the ethnic studies departments that Cal State LA (CSULA) has to offer so that people may be more interested in learning about history from a non-eurocentric viewpoint.The aim of this project was to create a cohesive branding that could be used to represent the Ethnic Studies department at CSULA, as well as items that could be used to attract student's attention during outreach events.

For this project, I wanted to create a mascot that would represent the different areas of study. The following are some initial ideas I had for look of the mascot.
The following are re-works of my original idea. I opted for rounder shapes to communicate a more friendly tone. What inspired me most for these mascots were vintage cartoons and characters you would see in education such as the Microsoft Word paper clip.

ABOUT blooming summer
Blooming Summer is a passion project I took on. Inspired by my love for K-pop, I created a Korean music festival based in Los Angeles that would take place on the first day of summer.My aim for this project was to challenge myself to create a cohesive social media branding and advertising design. This project takes on social media platforms such as Instagram and X. I wanted to challenge myself to create a unified branding that could be expressed and used across different medias.
